The Department was founded in the year 2005. The vision of the Department is to ensure that our students have a deep and analytical understanding of the field and to enable them to use their immense potential to enhance the quality of human life. The Department offers quality education in the Biotechnology and prepares students for the best career opportunities. Continuous programs are developed and administered which serve the needs of industrial Biotechnologists, Researchers.

The staff and students are actively involved in research. Students are motivated for paper presentation, poster presentation and publications. This ensures that each student has sufficient exposure and preparedness for a challenging career in the field.

 HIGHLIGHTS:

• INDUSTRIAL TOURS – One day institutional Visit was organized for III Bsc students for UAS, GKVK,Bangalore-Department of Horticulture.
• Guest lecture was organized on “ Career opportunities in Biotechnology” by Rajeswari B L, Manager, R&D, QA, Biocon.
• The staff members guide the students and motivate them to participate in competitions like Quiz, Model Making , Science Exhibition  Lectures, Essay and Collage.
